Manchester United legend Roy Keane believes Manchester City’s win over Nottingham Forest has paved the way for a smooth run to the Premier League title.
The Citizens faced a tough test against relegation-threatened Forest, who put up a fight at the City Ground. However, City emerged victorious with a 2-0 win.
Looking ahead, City’s remaining fixtures appear more favorable, with matches against Wolverhampton, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham. Keane expects Pep Guardiola’s men to have an easier ride in these upcoming games.
“Forest was City’s biggest challenge remaining, in my opinion,” Keane said. “The pressure was on after Arsenal won their match, and Forest are battling relegation fiercely.”
“With this result at the City Ground, I think Manchester City will secure the title now,” he continued. “They’re a team that knows how to win, even when they’re not playing their best. They have a deep squad with strong options on the bench, and they’ve built a winning habit over the past few years.”
Keane admitted initial concerns about City dropping points against Forest. However, their victory has him confident they’ll win their remaining matches.
Additional Information:
While Keane predicts a smooth run-in for City, injuries or unexpected slip-ups could still shake things up in the title race.
Liverpool and Arsenal remain hot on City’s heels, and their performances in upcoming matches will also be crucial factors.
