Photo Exhibition Commemorating 25th Anniversary of Agricultural Food Products Delivery from Mainland to Macau Inaugurated

Macau, November 11, 2023 – A photo exhibition entitled “25th Anniversary of the Delivery of Agricultural Food Products from the Mainland to Macau” was officially inaugurated today at the Macau Science Center. The exhibition showcases the historical developments and achievements of the food supply cooperation between the Mainland and Macau over the past 25 years. The exhibition was jointly organized by the Municipal Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. Over 100 historical photos and documents are on display, providing a comprehensive overview of the journey of agricultural food products delivery from the Mainland to Macau. In 1998, the first batch of agricultural food products was delivered from the Mainland to Macau, marking a significant milestone in the food supply cooperation between the two regions. Since then, the cooperative mechanism has been continuously optimized and strengthened, ensuring a stable and adequate supply of fresh and high-quality agricultural products to the people of Macau. The photo exhibition highlights the key events and advancements in this partnership, from the establishment of the “Green Channel” for food transportation to the implementation of modern logistics and distribution systems. It also showcases the efforts made by both sides to ensure food safety and quality, including the establishment of a food inspection and quarantine system. Moreover, the exhibition provides insights into the ongoing cooperation in agricultural technology and innovation. Joint initiatives, such as the establishment of agricultural demonstration bases and training programs, have contributed to the enhancement of Macau’s agricultural production capacity and the diversification of its food supply. “This exhibition is a testament to the remarkable achievements of the Mainland-Macau cooperation in the field of food supply,” said the Director of the Municipal Affairs Bureau, Mr. Lo Chung Hung. “We are grateful to the Mainland for its unwavering support and commitment to ensuring the well-being of the Macau people.” The photo exhibition is free and open to the public from November 11 to March 12, 2024. Guided tours are available upon request.

The photo exhibition “25th Anniversary of the Delivery of Agricultural Food Products from the Mainland to Macau” was inaugurated today (16th) at the Tap Seac Gallery. The exhibition showcases the history of the delivery of agricultural food products from the Mainland to Macau in the past 25 years, as well as the achievements and future prospects of this cooperation. The exhibition is co-organized by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, and the Municipal People’s Government of Zhuhai. It consists of three parts: “Historical Moments”, “Fruitful Cooperation” and “Common Future”. Through a total of 100 photos, the exhibition presents the development of the delivery of agricultural food products from the Mainland to Macau, explores the roles of the SAR government, the agricultural departments of the Mainland, and the enterprises and farmers of the two sides in this cooperation, and shows the bright prospects of this cooperation. The exhibition will be open to the public from today until 29th May, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. Guided tours will be provided during the exhibition period, and interested parties can register online through the website of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (www.icm.gov.mo).
