Highway 97 Closed South of Clinton Due to Vehicle Incident
Clinton, BC – March 8, 2023
– Highway 97 is currently closed south of Clinton, British Columbia, due to a vehicle incident. According to the Clinton RCMP, the incident occurred around 10:30 am this morning and involved multiple vehicles. Emergency responders are currently on the scene, and the extent of any injuries is unknown at this time. The closure is located approximately five kilometers south of Clinton, near the intersection with Highway 20. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find an alternate route. DriveBC estimates that the closure will remain in effect for several hours while the incident is investigated and cleared. Further updates will be provided as they become available. In the meantime, drivers are urged to obey the directions of emergency personnel and follow the posted detours.

Motorists traveling south on Highway 97 are advised to take the following detour: * Turn right onto Highway 20 at Clinton * Travel west on Highway 20 for approximately 10 kilometers * Take the exit for Highway 97C and follow it back to Highway 97 There is no detour available for northbound traffic on Highway 97.
