Man Killed After Identified Traffic Incident in Clearfield

– A man has died after an identified traffic incident that occurred in Clearfield on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. According to Clearfield Borough Police, the incident occurred around 5:30 PM at the intersection of Park Avenue and Nichols Street. The victim, identified as 55-year-old John Smith, was operating a motorcycle when he collided with a sedan driven by 32-year-old Sarah Jones. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported Smith to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Jones sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Investigators determined that Jones failed to stop at a stop sign, resulting in the collision. She was cited with careless driving and several other traffic violations.
