– On Monday, July 11, 2023, twelve medical students from across the country arrived at Texas Discovery Medical Hospital (TDMH) to participate in the 2023 Discovery Week program. The program is designed to provide medical students with an immersive experience in a rural healthcare setting. During their week at TDMH, the students will shadow physicians in various departments, including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and emergency medicine. They will also participate in hands-on clinical skills workshops and attend lectures on topics such as rural health disparities and the role of technology in healthcare.
