Man Shot Along Oregon Avenue in South Philadelphia

– A 22-year-old man was shot and killed along Oregon Avenue in South Philadelphia on Wednesday night. Police say the victim was shot multiple times in the chest around 7:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Oregon Avenue near 2nd Street. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses told police they saw the victim running down the street when he was shot by a man wearing a black hoodie. The suspect fled the scene on foot. No arrests have been made. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of his family. This is the 24th homicide in Philadelphia this year.
