SM’s Uselman Wins at Wapicada Golf Club
Wadena, MN
– On Thursday, September 8th, 2023, the SM girls golf team competed at the Wapicada Golf Club in Wadena, Minnesota. Senior captain, Emily Uselman, led the team to victory with a strong performance, capturing the individual win with a score of 85. Uselman’s consistent play throughout the round was key to her success. She birdied the 1st and 18th holes and had solid tee shots and approach shots on the remaining holes. Her strong mental game also helped her stay focused and execute under pressure. The rest of the SM team also performed well. Sophomore Abby Williams finished in 5th place with a score of 94, followed by freshman Makenna Nelson in 10th place with a 101. Senior Emily Mackenthun shot a 108 to round out the team’s scoring. “I’m proud of our girls for their hard work and dedication this season,” said head coach Dave Bauer. “Emily’s win is a testament to her skill and determination, and the team’s overall performance shows that we are making progress.” The SM girls golf team will next compete in the Section 5A Tournament on September 26th and 27th at the Becker Golf Course. The top two teams and the top three individuals not on those teams will advance to the state championship.
