Residents Escape House Fire in Windsor
Windsor, ON
– On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services responded to a residential fire at a home on Howard Avenue. At approximately 8:30 PM, crews arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and flames emanating from the front of the residence. Residents had already safely evacuated the property before firefighters arrived. Firefighters immediately initiated an aggressive interior attack to extinguish the blaze. The fire was contained to the front of the home, preventing it from spreading to adjacent properties. It took approximately 30 minutes for crews to fully extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Windsor Fire Department’s Arson Division. Damage to the home is estimated to be significant. “We are thankful that all residents were able to escape the fire safely,” said Fire Chief Stephen Turner. “Our firefighters did an excellent job containing the blaze and preventing further damage.” Red Cross has been notified to assist the displaced residents. Windsor Fire and Rescue Services reminds residents to practice fire safety precautions, including installing and maintaining smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, having a fire escape plan, and never leaving cooking unattended.

WINDSOR, ONT. – A family has been displaced after a house fire on Monday morning in Windsor. Firefighters responded to a home on Riverside Drive East near Alexis Road at around 7:30 a.m. after receiving reports of smoke and flames coming from the building. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the home. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but not before it caused extensive damage to the home. The family inside the home was able to escape without injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
