Kidderminster Harriers goalkeeper Luke Morgan-Smith has vowed to put right the wrongs from last season and help the club to a promotion tilt in the 2023/24 campaign. The 21-year-old shot-stopper joined Harriers from National League North rivals Leamington in the summer and is determined to make a lasting impression at Aggborough. “Last season was a tough one for the club and we’re all determined to put things right this year,” said Morgan-Smith. “I’m excited to be here and I’ve been impressed with the ambition and togetherness of the squad. We’ve got a lot of quality and I believe we can challenge for promotion. “I’m a hard-working goalkeeper and I’m always looking to improve. I’m confident in my ability and I’m ready to fight for my place in the team.” Morgan-Smith made his debut for Harriers in the pre-season friendly against Birmingham City and has been in impressive form ever since. He kept a clean sheet in the opening day of the National League season against Torquay United and has made a number of crucial saves in the games that followed. “I’m pleased with how I’ve started the season and I’m just looking to continue to improve,” said Morgan-Smith. “I know there’s a lot of competition for places in the team but that’s only going to help me to become a better goalkeeper. “I’m excited about the future with Harriers and I’m determined to help the club achieve its goals.” Morgan-Smith is likely to start in goal for Harriers in their next game against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.
