Palm Island Man Charged in Alleged Stabbing

– A Palm Island man has been charged in connection with an alleged stabbing incident that occurred on the island on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Police were called to a residence on Palm Island at approximately 10:00 pm following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old man with stab wounds to his chest. The victim was transported to Townsville Hospital in a critical condition. He has since undergone surgery and is currently in a stable condition. A 19-year-old Palm Island man was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of attempted murder. He appeared in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday, February 16, 2023, and was remanded in custody. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Detective Senior Sergeant James Foort of the Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch said, “We are urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist our investigation.” “This was a serious and violent crime, and there is no place for such behavior in our community,” Foort added. Palm Island man charged in alleged stabbing

A Palm Island man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was allegedly stabbed in the neck on Saturday night. Police will allege in court that the 32-year-old man was involved in a verbal altercation with a 23-year-old man at a house on Palm Island around 8pm. It is alleged that the older man then armed himself with a knife and stabbed the younger man in the neck. The victim was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition. He remains in hospital in a stable condition. The 32-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning and charged with attempted murder. He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
