After beating West Ham 3-1 in a dominant manner, Manchester City clinched the Premier League title for the fourth consecutive season.
Stefan Ortega was expected to replace the injured Ederson in the goal of the “citizens”, and another reshuffle in the starting lineup was the exit of Jeremy Doku instead of Mateo Kovacic.
Konstantinos Mavropanos returned to the start of the Hammers, replacing Angelo Ogbonna. Aaron Cresswell replaced Jarrod Bowen.
Without delaying the matter, the hosts opened the scoring in the second minute. Phil Foden slipped away from his opponent on the approaches to the penalty area and made a great shot near the far post — 1-0.
City simply did not let go of the ball, continuing to put West Ham under pressure. Soon, Rhodry and Doku scored their punches.
And already on the 18th minute, the guests faltered again. Doku shot from the left edge of the penalty area to the 11-meter mark, and Foden shot into touch — 2-0.
Having quickly made the bill comfortable, the “townspeople” did not relax. The game continued to be one-sided.
The Hammers managed to take a little breath only closer to the break, and in the 42nd minute, Mohammed Kudus suddenly made the difference in the score minimal – 2:1 with a spectacular blow in the fall through himself.
In the second half, City began to play more cautiously, but the pressure on West Ham’s goal was still great. In the 59th minute, Bernardo Silva dropped the ball on the approaches to the penalty area, and Rhodri restored the previous difference in the score with a touch kick — 3:1.
The end of the match was serene for the “citizens”. In the 88th minute, Tomas Soucek hit Ortega’s goal, but he did it with his hand, which was discovered by the VAR system.
City confidently got the result, scoring two quick goals. West Ham managed Kudus’ unexpected goal, but it only briefly created the appearance of intrigue.
