Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has revealed what head coach Josep Guardiola told the team before the match of the final round of the Premier League against West Ham.
At the moment, City have a two-point advantage over Arsenal, who will play against Everton on Sunday.
However, Guardiola urged his players not to rely on the Gunners’ misfire and rely only on themselves.
“He basically said this: ‘You lose points and we won’t win the Premier League.’ We know this, we’ve been in this position before. Both teams, us and Arsenal, think the same way.”
“I wouldn’t even call it a finishing leap — we haven’t lost since Villa (in December), and Arsenal seem to have lost one match out of the last 17.”
“These are impressive performances from both teams, so we know Arsenal will probably win the league if we don’t beat West Ham. And vice versa. There’s only one way to look at it,” De Bruyne told Sky Sports.
