Роберто Де Дзерби Brighton have announced the departure of their head coach Roberto De Derbi from the club after the end of this season.

De Derby took over Brighton in September 2022, successfully continuing the work of Graham Potter, who left for Chelsea.

Brighton finished last season in sixth place in the Premier League, which was the Seagulls’ best result ever in the top division.

Earlier this season, De Jerby was vying for big clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. However, against the background of the prolonged decline of Brighton, the interest of the giants faded, and only in early May Roberto announced that he wanted to remain in his post.

However, before the match of the final round of the Premier League against Manchester United on Sunday, it was announced that De Jerby was leaving Brighton by mutual consent of the parties.

“Roberto has given us two excellent seasons of loyal service, during which time he has reached new heights with the club, and last but not least this is our first European campaign, which will remain in the memory of Brighton fans for a long time.

“We have mutually agreed to terminate Roberto’s contract at a point in time, allowing both sides to make plans for next season as early as possible, and Roberto will have enough time to think about his next step and his future.”

“I am sure our fans will provide Roberto and his staff with a wonderful day and a well-deserved send-off at Amex before, during and after tomorrow’s match.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roberto and his staff for their hard work over the past two seasons. They all leave our club on good terms and with our best wishes for the future,” said Brighton President Tony Bloom.
