Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has set up an Instagram account to say goodbye to the Merseyside club fans.
The Premier League home match against Wolverhampton on Sunday will be Klopp’s last at Liverpool. Jurgen is leaving after almost nine years at the club.
Klopp has always been indifferent to social media, but on the eve of his farewell to Anfield, he decided to start Instagram under the pseudonym “kloppo”.
In his first message, Klopp addressed Liverpool fans, gaining more than half a million subscribers in a matter of hours.
“Dear Liverpudlians, we are nearing the end. On October 8, 2015, we really met for the first time. I would call it a love affair. From day one, it was an absolutely incredible, incredible time.”
“I’ve enjoyed it so much and I want to thank you for all the support you’ve given us over the years, for all the energy you’ve given us.”
“I’ve always wondered what it would feel like if we wrote a story together, and that’s exactly the feeling I have today. It’s a good book. And if we read it in the future, we will do it with a smile on our face.”
“It’s hard to leave this incredible place, but I want to stay in touch with you. And although I don’t hang out on social media, people have told me that social media helps keep in touch. So let’s go. See you later!” Klopp says in the posted video.
