Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said he will discuss a new contract with his club when the “right time” comes.
After the end of this season, Arteta will have only 12 months left on his current contract. During Mikel’s tenure, Arsenal has grown significantly stronger, becoming a real contender for the Premier League title.
At the moment, Arteta is fully focused on the denouement of the championship race, and in the summer he will be ready to negotiate a new deal.
“It’s something that can wait until the end of the season or until the right time. Then we’ll sit down and talk.”
“And now it’s important to win (over Everton in the last round), continuing to believe that we can become champions. This is the most important thing.”
“No matter what happens, it’s going to be a very emotional day. This is probably not the right moment to draw any conclusions, but after that we will have time for reflection.”
“We need to finish the season and try to understand why it ended the way it ended. We need to find the answers to the “why” and the “how” in order to take the next step. That’s what’s important,” Arteta is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
