Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has said that people don’t appreciate striker Erling Holand’s performance enough this season.
The 23-year-old Holand played outstandingly last season, scoring 52 goals in 53 matches and winning the Treble with City.
Holand is not playing so brightly this season and is often criticized. However, De Bruyne recalls that it is his Norwegian teammate who is the leader of the Premier League scoring race with 27 goals.
“Last season, his performance figures were so incredible and ridiculous. When you then spend the season a little less brightly, people don’t appreciate what you’ve done. But he still scored 27 goals and will probably win the Golden Boot again. It’s incredible. He’s amazingly good again, and he always does what he does.”
“When choosing the best player of the season, if you look at our team, I would name Phil (Foden) or Rhodri because of their importance. There are really good players in other teams too. A few are at Arsenal, Ollie Watkins is surprisingly playing for Aston Villa,” De Bruyne is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
