Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot said he was not afraid of the ordeal associated with working at Liverpool.
Liverpool are expected to confirm the appointment of a Slot next week in place of Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving the club.
Klopp justified his decision to leave by saying that he “ran out of energy”, and Slot understands this perfectly well. Arne also feels that his work at Feyenoord has prepared him well for Liverpool.
“I think almost every coach of a top club is on the verge of overwork. Being a head coach is a very hard job. Especially the top club, where you have so many opinion leaders in front of you every week. Last season at Feyenoord, I really experienced how hard it is.”
“Does the move to Liverpool mean that I will be under higher pressure? It would have been the same if I had stayed at Feyenoord. Expectations are high at De Cape, too. People expect good football and good results. We have often succeeded, but you, as a coach, are constantly working on it,” said Algemeen Dagblad Slot.
