Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has warned his team that “the job is not done yet” in the Premier League title race.
Last Tuesday, City took a big step towards a fourth consecutive title by winning their postponed match — 0:2 away at Tottenham.
Thus, the “citizens” approach the match of the final round of the Premier League against West Ham, ahead of Arsenal by two points, but De Bruyne recalls how in a similar situation his team almost misfired at the finish line against Brighton in the 2018/19 season and against Aston Villa 12 months ago later.
“Of course we were happy to beat Tottenham because it put us in the position we want to be in on Sunday, but I don’t feel like we celebrated this victory in any particular way.”
“Of course, you are happy to win the match, but we know that the job is not done yet.”
“I know everyone talks about how easy it’s going to be, but we’ve been through it before against Brighton and Villa and it’s never easy. You’re always under pressure when you’re in a situation like this,” De Bruyne told Sky Sports.
