Manchester United head coach Eric Ten Haag has rejected the suspicions of club legend Wayne Rooney that some players are faking their injuries.
After United’s 0-1 home defeat to Arsenal last weekend, Rooney said that some of the injured players could well have entered the Old Trafford pitch.
Ten Hag does not agree with this, assuring that his players do not shy away from participating in matches.
“Being here at Carrington, you have to see that these players are desperate to play.”
“I feel it watching Martinez, watching Bruno (Fernandes), who was trying to take a fitness test on Sunday. Rashford did his best trying to train last week, but he couldn’t.”
“That’s why the players are desperate to play and want to be in the right condition. The same goes for Viktor Lindelof and Rafa Varane — they are training to be ready for the final (of the FA Cup). They are doing everything they can,” Ten Haga is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
