Manchester United manager Eric Ten Haag has said he will not say goodbye to the Old Trafford crowd during the Premier League match against Newcastle on Wednesday evening.
After the match with Newcastle, Ten Haga’s wards will only have to make a trip to Brighton, as well as play against Manchester City at Wembley in the FA Cup final.
Ten Haga’s future remains in doubt, but Eric does not feel that he is in danger of being fired, and believes that United fans are on his side, despite a difficult season.
“Yes, we will arrange a lap of honor (after the match against Newcastle). Yes, of course, we will pay our respects to the fans. In good times, in bad times, we are always together with our fans, so yes, we will arrange a lap of honor.”
“Farewell to whom? With me?! That’s not how I feel. That’s not what I see. I’m going to do this lap of honor for the fans.”
“At the stadium, at home and away, the fans always support the team, support me, and when I’m outside, many, many come up to me.”
“Maybe it’s just being polite, but I don’t feel that way. I’ve never faced a negative reaction because the fans understand our situation. The fans understand that this club is in a transition period, in addition, we are facing huge problems due to injuries, especially in key positions,” Ten Haga quotes The Independent.
