Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson expressed outrage that his teammate Rhodri was not nominated for the title of the best player in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season.
Last week, the Premier League announced the names of eight players nominated for the title of the best in the coming season.
Rhodri, who has not lost any of his 49 Premier League matches, was not on this shortlist, so the outraged Ederson has no choice but to support his other comrade in the person of Phil Foden.
“There are good players there, but I consider Rhodri an excellent candidate who is not on the list. I don’t understand why he’s not on the list. To be honest, this is unacceptable.”
“If you look at his year, his campaign and how he has played in recent seasons, then to observe his absence from the list is absurd. I do not know what criteria they use when nominating players, but there are other great players out there. But I consider Rhodri an excellent candidate for this award. Unfortunately, he is not on the list.”
“Therefore, I think I will worry about Phil, because Phil is also having a great season, he has helped us a lot. This season he scored more goals, gave more assists, was more stable and more important for the team,” Ederson told ESPN Brasil.
