Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna has become an unexpected candidate to replace Eric Ten Hag at Manchester United.
After the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25, the new United management, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will make their decision about Ten Hug, whose second season at the club is shaping up in a disappointing way.
According to The Guardian, United are seriously considering inviting 38-year-old McKenna if Ten Hag is shown the door.
McKenna spent six years at United before leaving Ipswich in December 2021, which he has since managed to lift from League One to the Premier League.
It is claimed that United have already established contact with McKenna’s representatives, but negotiations are still in their infancy.
Preparing for their first season in the Premier League after 22 years of hiatus, Ipswich absolutely does not want to lose McKenna, who, in addition to United, is also interested in Brighton and Brentford.
