Former England head coach Fabio Capello believes that his compatriot Roberto De Derbi from Brighton is not even fit to work in the third division.
In the previous weeks and months, De Jerby had been wooed by various top clubs in the Premier League and Europe, including Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
However, Capello considers this hype around De Derbi artificial, pointing to the powerful patron of the 44-year-old Italian.
“I wouldn’t let De Derby into the third division either. There is a lot of talk about him as one of the top-level coaches because he is sponsored by Guardiola, but this year he is 10th or 11th in the table. What has he won in his career? Let’s take a look at his resume — he won only one cup in Ukraine.”
“He is a trained coach who sticks to his ideas wherever he trains, and he has a very respected sponsor in Guardiola.”
“However, so far no one has invited him, despite the fact that his name is associated with the largest clubs. In addition, his contract with Brighton provides for compensation of 15 million — this is too much for the release of the coach from obligations, to be honest,” Capello quotes.
