England head coach Gareth Southgate has said he is fully focused on Euro 2024, despite rumors linking him with an appointment at Manchester United.
The 53-year-old Southgate is considered the bookmakers’ favorite to replace the current United coach Eric Ten Hag, but at the moment Gareth has more important things to do.
“I am not a gambling person or a bookmaker — they can set the odds as they wish. There were no conversations with me about this.”
“I have the only thing I have to focus on. This thing is to have as successful a tournament as possible with the England national team. All extraneous things are completely indifferent to me.”
“If I start talking about it, I’ll be distracted from what I’m doing. So I think the whole country expects my focus to be on the England team, and that’s right.”
“We held three tournaments, providing the audience with a great time. I think we understand this, and I know that there is a desire to move one step further. This is a great opportunity for us to do this,” Southgate was quoted as saying by The Independent.
