Manchester United legend Roy Keane criticized Casemiro for his role in the episode with the missed goal from Arsenal.
The fate of Sunday’s Premier League match at Old Trafford was sealed by Leandro Trossard’s only goal in the 20th minute (0:1).
In the scoring episode, Kai Havertz, who gave an assist to Trossard, avoided offside due to the fact that Casemiro was delayed in defense, and Keane cannot forgive this mistake to the most experienced Brazilian, who has been forced to play central defender in recent matches.
“Casemiro had to accelerate. I’m not saying 100 meters or something, but you have to go higher up the field. Just move your legs a little faster. He should have looked around and thought, “We’re in trouble.” Just hold the line. It’s already a difficult match.”
“The basic things need to be done right, and they didn’t do the basic things right. I repeat, being such an experienced player, he should have moved higher up the field,” Keane said on Sky Sports.
