Manchester United assistant coach Steve McClaren will be able to keep his job even if Eric Ten Haag is fired.
When Ten Hug was appointed head coach of United in the summer of 2022, McLaren, who once assisted Sir Alex Ferguson, became Eric’s assistant.
As the Daily Mirror reports in an exclusive article, McLaren has a long-standing and professional relationship with Sir Dave Brailsford, the right-hand man of United’s new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Whatever decision Ratcliffe and Brailsford make about Ten Hug at the end of the season, McLaren is considered too valuable for the club, so Steve will be able to stay — if, of course, he wants to.
