Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino clarified his comments about his future.
Before leaving for Nottingham Forest, Pochettino made it clear that he was tired of months of rumors about his possible dismissal. Mauricio said he could leave on his own if he didn’t feel happy.
After the 2-3 victory at the City Ground, Pochettino returned to this topic, admitting that he was simply “too honest” and did not even think about leaving Chelsea.
“I’ve never said that I don’t feel happy. I never said that. I said that maybe I’m unhappy, maybe I’m happy.”
“Such headlines are normal. Sometimes I’m too honest when I talk, but that’s not a problem. I have one more year left on my contract. As I said yesterday, I always think long-term. I think like I’m going to be here all my life.”
“We are professionals, and we have to try to win matches. We try to make the owners and staff happy. I am responsible for all the staff at the Cobham training base.”
“I try to make the players and fans happy. This is my job. Everything is simple. It’s that simple,” Pochettino is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
