West Ham manager David Moyes believes that he has managed to significantly raise the bar of expectations in four and a half years at the club.
As you know, Moyes is leaving West Ham at the end of the season, so the 3-1 victory over Luton earlier on Saturday was David’s farewell to the fans of the London club.
When Moyes took the job at West Ham for the second time in December 2019, the Hammers were fighting for survival in the Premier League. And David, who won the Conference League last season, feels that the club has grown significantly during this time.
“Sometimes you only hear negativity, but most of the 50,000 people in the stadium stayed after the final whistle.”
“Coming to a football club and achieving something is not easy for any coach. I hope I leave and people will say that I have achieved something here and raised the bar of expectations.”
“When I arrived, I was asked to save them from departure. People said I was good at it. But now it’s a club that says it wants to play in Europe every year. There have been big changes here during our time together,” Moyes was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
