Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has called on his club to offer a new contract to head coach Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal announced yesterday that Jorginho had signed a new contract with the club. In a season and a half at the Emirates, the ex-Chelsea player saw the Gunners turn into a real contender for the Premier League title.
Now Jorginho wants Arteta to follow his example, who is the main creator of Arsenal’s transformation and has one year left on his current contract.
“I think he should stay here much longer. I feel like he’s fine here, and I honestly can’t imagine him leaving.”
“It’s really important for the club that he stays because he — together with Edu, the management and the whole club — has created something special. I don’t believe he wants to leave on his own.”
What he’s been doing here since his transition is incredible. It is no coincidence that we are where we are. It’s been such a long process and he gets along very well with the club, with the team, with the fans.”
“Everything is working really well because everyone is aiming in the same direction. Everyone brings their own small share just to make the team better and achieve something,” Jorginho was quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
