Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said he would have agreed to the current position in the Premier League if it had been offered to him at the start of the season.
Two matches before the end of the Premier League season, Arsenal are in first place, one point ahead of Manchester City.
And although City have one extra match, Arteta is extremely glad that the Gunners are still in the race when there is so little left of the season. Mikel doesn’t want to think about anything other than the championship.
“I would have picked up a pen and signed this provision (if someone had suggested it at the start of the season).”
“When I talk to the players, my brain tells me that we will lift the Premier League title. This is how my brain behaves at the moment, and I want to trust my brain and my gut. And I want everyone to think the same way. I hope we will achieve this.”
“Thanks to this, you are in a very clear situation. You have to focus on what you have to do. That’s what we do,” Arteta is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard.
