Everton have withdrawn their appeal against the withdrawal of two points from the club for violating the rules of financial fair play.
Earlier this season, the Premier League stripped Everton of 10 points, which were reduced to six as a result of the appeal, and when the Toffees reported on finances for the 2022/23 season, they lost two more points.
Being in the midst of a struggle for survival, Everton indicated their intention to challenge the second withdrawal of points. The appeal was expected to be heard in time for the Toffees’ final match of the season against Arsenal on May 19.
However, three home wins in a row — over Nottingham Forest, Liverpool and Brentford — guaranteed Everton an extension of their registration in the Premier League, so the Toffees decided to withdraw their appeal, the BBC reports.
