Midfielder Jorginho rejected offers from Serie A and signed a new contract with Arsenal.
Jorginho’s previous contract expired at the end of this season, and it was only in March that the 32-year-old midfielder’s agent hinted at his client’s return to Italy, where the Gunner played for Verona and Napoli.
However, Jorginho decided to extend his stay at Arsenal, for whom he has played 35 matches this season, taking into account all competitions, scoring one goal.
Arsenal did not disclose the term of Jorginho’s new contract, calling it “short-term”. Apparently, we are talking about an agreement for next season.
Jorginho has been playing for Arsenal since his transfer from Chelsea for 12 million pounds in January 2023. And an Italian of Brazilian origin arrived at Chelsea from Napoli in July 2019.
“I’m having a very positive time here because I immediately felt like I was part of something important. I feel involved and I’m in a really good place. It doesn’t always happen that way, so when you have that special feeling, it’s important.”
“I am very happy to stay because it is a privilege to be a part of this family. My family is happy, we have settled in very well, and I can still be useful!” — said Jorginho.
