Manchester United has been named the most expensive football club in the world, being valued at 6.3 billion dollars (4.9 billion pounds).
Following its methodology, the publication Sportico has compiled a rating of the 50 most expensive football clubs in the world, the total value of which has reached 80 billion dollars (64.1 billion pounds).
As already mentioned, United turned out to be at the top of the list, despite the fact that the Red Devils have not won the Premier League for 11 years and will not even play in the Champions League next season.
Five other English clubs entered the top ten: Liverpool (4.1 billion pounds), Manchester City (3.8 billion pounds), Arsenal (3.1 billion pounds), Tottenham (2.8 billion pounds) and Chelsea (2.7 billion pounds).
In addition to the Big Six, only West Ham, Newcastle and Aston Villa got into the top 50 of the rating.
