Gareth Southgate’s lack of trophies is not an obstacle to the invitation of the head coach of the England national team to Manchester United.
Earlier this week, it became known that United will not fire their current coach Eric Ten Haga before the FA Cup final, despite the depressing performance in recent matches.
United will make a decision on Ten Hag only after the match against Manchester City at Wembley on May 25, and Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel is considered one of the favorites to replace Eric.
Not so long ago, Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea, and Southgate cannot boast of such success, but United bosses do not set themselves the goal of inviting a proven winner if Ten Hag is fired.
According to The Telegraph, United’s priority is long—term success, not short-term achievements, and the lack of professionalism is not Southgate’s disadvantage in the eyes of the Red devils.
The nuance is that Southgate promised to decide on his future only after Euro 2024, and it is not a fact that United are ready to wait so long.
