Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez expects to return for the FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25.
Recently, United has been experiencing an acute shortage of players in the center of defense, which is why veteran Johnny Evans and prop Casemiro were forced to make up a pair of central defenders against Crystal Palace last Monday.
And if Harry Maguire’s participation in the FA Cup final remains in doubt, then Martinez expects to gain playing conditions for the match at Wembley, the Daily Mail reports.
The 26-year-old Argentinian hopes to get playing minutes in the remaining matches of the Premier League season — perhaps already against Arsenal next Sunday.
Martinez has played only 11 games for United this season, undergoing repeated foot surgery and then damaging knee ligaments against West Ham in February.
