Chelsea are in talks to buy 17-year-old Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian.
The Athletic expects that Palmeiras has agreed to a guaranteed compensation of 30 million euros (25.8 million pounds) plus impressive bonuses.
It is planned that Willian will join Chelsea after he turns 18 in April 2025.
Similarly, in December 2022, Palmeiras agreed on the transfer of its other teenager, Endrik, to Real Madrid for 35 million euros (30.1 million pounds) plus 25 million euros (21.5 million pounds) in bonuses.
Real Madrid were also interested in Estevao’s services, but the difficult relationship between the Spanish grandee’s leading scout Juni Calafat and the player’s agent Andre Cari made this transfer impossible.
Estevao, nicknamed “Messinho”, has scored one goal in five matches this season of the Brazilian Serie A. Last year, Willian scored three times and provided three assists at the U-17 World Youth Championship, where the Brazilian national team reached the quarterfinals.
