Sky Sports expert Jamie Carragher has called on midfielder Casemiro to leave Manchester United.
The day before, Casemiro could not prevent United from losing 4-0 to Crystal Palace, leaving many questions with his game in the center of defense.
According to Carragher, the 32-year-old Brazilian is no longer pulling the Premier League level and must stop his torment.
“To be honest, there is nothing worse than Casemiro playing central defender for Manchester United. It’s sad to see such a great player perform in such a way. We’ve all been through this, but he’s only 32 years old. He is very far from his best form, thanks to which he has achieved so much in the game.”
“Being an experienced player, Casemiro must understand that he has three matches left to play at the top level – two in the league and the cup final. And then he can go to the MLS or Saudi Arabia.”
“I’m serious — his agent, the people around him should tell him, ‘This has to stop.’ We are watching one of the greatest players of modern football, who, along with Kroos and Modric, played for one of the best midfield lines that dominated Europe.”
“Now he is not at all close to what he achieved with the Brazilian national team and Real Madrid, winning the Champions League. When I was finishing my career, I always reminded myself: “Quit football before football leaves you.” Football has left him at this top level. He has to stop this and leave.”
“They have to pay him compensation and make a deal. But such a player should not tolerate such a thing. And from whom? From Crystal Palace. This is not Manchester City or Real Madrid, with all due respect to Crystal Palace. A person of this level should not go through something like this, and he should stop it,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
