Manchester United manager Eric Ten Hag is confident that his captain Bruno Fernandes will maintain his loyalty to the club.
In an interview with DAZN last week, Fernandes hinted at a possible departure from United, saying he would think about it after Euro 2024.
However, Ten Hag believes that Fernandes’ words were “taken out of context.” Eric has no doubt about the loyalty of the 29-year-old Portuguese, whose contract runs until 2026.
“I know he is devoted to Manchester United and I think he is very happy to be here.”
“Taking responsibility for yourself is one of the main qualities that modern football players must show. Bruno is a very good example for many others. He’s a real fighter. When we played against Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final last year, he played with an ankle that was so swollen. It was incredible. He couldn’t run, but he was on the field anyway.”
“He is always available, always shows himself and always gives the team energy. Such personnel are necessary to achieve success,” the BBC quoted Ten Haga as saying.
