Hollywood actor Will Ferrell will become a minority shareholder of Leeds.
Recall that last summer, Leeds came under the full control of 49ers Enterprises, based on the club’s estimate of 170 million pounds.
The current owners of Leeds are the investment arm of the San Francisco Fort Niners American football team from the NFL.
49ers Enterprises investors include a number of celebrities, including actor Russell Crowe, swimmer Michael Phelps and golfers Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
According to the BBC, now 56-year-old Ferrell, known for such films as “TV Presenter”, “Stepbrothers”, “Elf”, “Witch” and “Hello, Dad, New Year!” has decided to invest in 49ers Enterprises.
Ferrell is also known as a big sports fan and is a co-owner of the Los Angeles MLS football club.
Let’s add that Leeds finished the regular season of the Championship in third place and now they will try to return to the Premier League, from where they left a year ago, through the playoffs.
