Manchester City coxswain Josep Guardiola believes midfielder Phil Foden is capable of becoming a club legend with the Etihad.
The day before, Foden was recognized as the Player of the Year by the Association of Football Journalists (FWA), which was a reward for Phil for a great season in which he scored 24 goals and gave 10 assists.
By the age of 23, Foden had won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, one Champions League, one European Super Cup and one Club World Cup.
Guardiola is confident that if Foden continues in the same spirit and remains loyal to City, he will become one of the greatest players in the history of the “citizens”.
“I do not know — this club has a long, long history. Therefore, we must not forget about the players who played at Main Road, as everyone knows. If he spends his entire career here staying at this level, then I’m sure he can become one of the best,” Foden is quoted as saying by The Guardian.
