Aston Villa’s Grealish to Undergo MRI Scan on Calf InjuryAston Villa’s Grealish to Undergo MRI Scan on Calf Injury Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish is set to undergo a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan to determine the extent of a calf injury that forced him off in the club’s 2-1 victory over Manchester United. The 25-year-old England international felt discomfort in his calf during the first half of the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Saturday. He was replaced by Bertrand Traore in the 37th minute. Villa manager Dean Smith expressed concern over Grealish’s injury, saying after the match: “Jack felt his calf, so we’ll have to wait and see how that is. We’ll have him scanned. He’s obviously a big player for us.” The MRI scan will provide a clearer picture of the severity of Grealish’s injury and the potential recovery time. The midfielder has been in excellent form for Villa this season, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists in 21 league appearances. Aston Villa will be hoping that Grealish’s injury is not long-term, as his creativity and attacking threat will be crucial to their hopes of finishing in the top six of the Premier League. The Villans next face Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday, before traveling to Leeds United in the league on February 26th.
