Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino has said he cannot influence the future of midfielder Conor Gallagher in any way.
On the eve of the Stamford Bridge stands, a large banner was displayed in honor of Gallagher, and Conor thanked the fans for this with an effective pass to Trevo Chalobah when he opened the scoring against Tottenham.
After the 2-0 victory, Pochettino spoke about the future of the 24-year-old Englishman, who is on the verge of the final 12 months of his contract.
“I’m not involved in this. I don’t know anything.”
“You can see how important he is. He’s been in my starting lineup all season. He plays under any circumstances.”
“I have nothing to do with this decision. This is a situation that the club and the player need to sort out between themselves,” Pochettino is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
