Mohsin Naqvi Raises Issue before ICC about Pakistan Team Staying in Hotel Away from Ground
Lahore, Pakistan:
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has condemned the Indian government’s decision to make the Pakistan cricket team stay in a hotel far from the ground during the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, calling it a “violation of the spirit of the game.” In a statement issued on Monday, Aurangzeb said that the Indian government’s move was “an attempt to humiliate and intimidate” the Pakistan team and was “a clear violation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) regulations.” She pointed out that the ICC regulations clearly state that all teams participating in an ICC event must be provided with equal facilities, including accommodation and transportation. She urged the ICC to take immediate action against the Indian government and ensure that the Pakistan team is treated with respect and dignity. Aurangzeb also called on the Indian government to reconsider its decision and to allow the Pakistan team to stay in a hotel closer to the ground. She said that this would not only be in line with the ICC regulations but would also help to create a positive atmosphere for the tournament. “The Asia Cup is a prestigious event and it is important that all teams are able to participate in a fair and competitive environment,” Aurangzeb said. “The Indian government’s decision to make the Pakistan team stay in a hotel far from the ground is not only unfair but also goes against the spirit of the game.” She added that Pakistan will not stand for any injustice and will do everything in its power to ensure that the team is treated with respect.
Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi has raised the issue of the Pakistan cricket team staying in a hotel away from the ground before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
This was discussed during a meeting of the ICC Cricket Committee held in Melbourne, Australia. This matter was brought up in the meeting by Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi. Najam Sethi said that the Pakistan team had to stay in a hotel away from the ground during the Asia Cup 2022, which was held in the United Arab Emirates. He said that this caused inconvenience to the players as they had to travel long distances between the hotel and the ground. Najam Sethi said that the ICC should ensure that the Pakistan team is provided with a hotel that is close to the ground for the upcoming World Cup. The ICC Cricket Committee agreed to consider the issue and take appropriate action. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held in India from October 11 to November 13.
