January 18, 2023 The newly renamed Harold Family Clinical Lab at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center was officially dedicated on January 18, 2023, to honor the generous support of the Harold family. The state-of-the-art laboratory is dedicated to supporting the research and clinical activities of the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute (SOCCI) and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Harold Family Clinical Lab is equipped with the latest technology and is designed to accelerate the development of new therapies and improve patient care. It will play a pivotal role in advancing research in cancer genomics, immunotherapy, and precision medicine. The lab is named in recognition of the Harold family’s longstanding commitment to Cedars-Sinai and their passion for medical innovation. The family’s support has helped establish several programs at the medical center, including the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research and the Harold and Rhoda Steinberg Atrium. “We are deeply grateful to the Harold family for their vision and generosity,” said Shlomo Melmed, MD, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai. “This state-of-the-art lab will enable our researchers and clinicians to make groundbreaking discoveries that will transform the lives of cancer patients.”
