NJSGA Women’s Senior Championship:

Kathryn Whitney (Hamilton Farm Golf Club) defended her title with a three-shot win at Jumping Brook Country Club. *

NJSGA Women’s Four-Ball Championship:

The duo of Kathleen Grady (Westfield Golf Club) and Jennifer Cleary (Montclair Golf Club) captured the title at Neshanic Valley Golf Course.

* The NJSGA announced the appointment of Mike Shepherd as its new Executive Director. Shepherd brings over 20 years of experience in golf administration. * The NJSGA is hosting a free golf clinic for beginners on June 8 at Galloping Hill Golf Course. * Several NJSGA member clubs have implemented new player development programs to attract and retain new golfers.

Junior Golf

* The NJSGA Junior Team competed in the National Team Matches at Berkeley Hall Golf Club in Florida. The team finished in 15th place. * The NJSGA Junior Open Championship will be held on July 15-16 at Bamm Hollow Country Club.

Other Highlights

* The NJSGA is partnering with the New Jersey Golf Foundation to launch a new scholarship program for high school students who plan to pursue a career in golf. * The NJSGA is hosting a fundraiser dinner on June 12 at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. The event will honor longtime NJSGA member Dr. Richard Weiss.
