Киран Маккенна Chelsea and Brighton are ready to come together in the battle for Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna.

At the moment, Chelsea bosses are waiting for the end of the season, after which they will audit the work of their head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

According to The Guardian, Pochettino has the support of key figures at Stamford Bridge, but a final decision on Mauricio has not yet been made.

At the same time, McKenna is listed as one of the leading candidates to replace Pochettino if Chelsea still decides to end cooperation with Mauricio after just one season.

The 38-year-old McKenna has earned a reputation as one of the brightest coaching talents, having been promoted twice in a row with Ipswich in the class and reached the Premier League.

McKenna is also on the radar of Brighton, who earlier on Saturday announced the departure of their mentor Roberto De Derbi at the end of the season.

According to talkSPORT, McKenna is not just Brighton’s number one target, but is also open to working with the Seagulls — if he stayed at Ipswich, Kieran would have to work with a budget that is not competitive by Premier League standards.

Finally, another club watching McKenna is Manchester United, who will decide the fate of their coxswain Eric Ten Haga after the FA Cup final on May 25.
