Маурисио Почеттино Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that a 4-2 home defeat to Wolverhampton in February could have cost him his job.

Chelsea are powerfully completing their first season under Pochettino, having a good chance of winning a ticket to European competitions. Thanks to this breakthrough, Mauricio has significantly strengthened his position.

Pochettino was in a completely different position a few months ago, recalling as his lowest moment that defeat against Wolves, when the stands of Stamford Bridge chanted the name of Jose Mourinho, and the wife of defender Thiago Silva called for Chelsea to change through social media.

“Was there a moment when I thought I was in danger of being fired? To be honest, after Wolverhampton. Do you remember what happened next?”

“It’s not what I thought: “We will be fired.” But it was a difficult moment. At such a moment, the coach and his staff feel lonely.”

“It feels like everyone is looking at you as guilty, and you don’t understand what’s going on. We were left there alone after the match for two hours.”

“The match had already ended a long time ago, and the five of us were in a very small room with each other. We were more than sad. It was an unfair situation that we didn’t deserve, but because of the results, we ended up in this situation. The problem was in the circumstances,” Pochettino was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
